A hat is a nice touch with any outfit. You can wear a hat by itself, or with other clothing.

My roommate and I convinced the guard at the building entrance that since we each had hats, we were not topless. Or maybe what convinced him was when she said that we had nothing to do after class if he was still going to be around then.
